Sponsor-a-Match
What is the Sponsor-A-Match
Campaign? It is a fundraiser designed for business or individuals
to provide financial support to BBBS by donating the program cost
to support a match for one year.
For a yearly donation of $1000, a donor becomes the sponsor of one of
our matches. This is our cost to bring a match together and keep it going
for a year. Initially, the $1000 sponsorship covers the expense of training
a volunteer, conducting police and reference checks and conducting in-home
interviews with both the Big and Little. In the following years, a $1000
sponsorship underwrites the cost of having a professional caseworker
supervise the match and provide continued support and guidance. The agency
also arranges activities to help foster this mentoring experience and
keep the match active for years.
The sponsor receives a plaque, featuring a photo of the sponsored match
as well as an introduction of the match. This serves as a constant reminder
of the friendship the sponsor has made possible. Each year following,
the sponsor is sent an update on the match including the status of match
goals, favorite activities and the progress made between the Big and
the Little at school and at home.
In the past, we have been contacted by companies wanting to sponsor a
family for the holidays. If your company participates in these types
of efforts, please consider proposing that your company could sponsor
one or more of our matches. Perhaps your company would be interested
in sponsoring your match, a volunteer they know personally and a child
who has been blessed with the gift of friendship.
