The Sponsor-A-Match program provides
an opportunity for a Tri-State donor to contribute directly
to a local program and see immediate results from their investment, says
Kathy List, Executive Director. Currently, 120 individuals,
businesses, and employee groups sponsor children in our program
through an annual donation to the Sponsor-A-Match program.
We live in a very charitable-minded region. Our donors realize their contribution
has an immediate and lasting impact, and they feel comfortable that their donation
is being spent as they wish, says List.
We are beginning to see a trend in group giving among friends, neighbors,
and civic groups who wish to sponsor a child in our program and track their yearly
progress. When $1000 is divided among a group of 10-20 people, the individual
donation is manageable, and the collective benefit is meaningful.

Sponsor-A-Match is a unique program allowing
individuals or companies to underwrite the cost of matching a
needy Tri-State child with a volunteer Big Brother or Big Sister.
Your $1000 sponsorship goes directly to helping match a child
on our waiting list with the role model they need.
Why does my sponsorship cost $1000 a year?
This is our cost to bring a successful match together and keep it going
for a year. Initially, your $1000 sponsorship covers the expense of training
a volunteer, conducting police and reference checks and conducting in-home
interviews with both the Big and Little. In the following years, a $1000
sponsorship underwrites our cost of having a professional social worker
supervise the match and provide continued support and guidance. The agency
also arranges activities to help foster this mentoring experience and
keep the match active for years.
How will I keep track of my sponsorship?
You will be sent a plaque with a picture and names of the match that
you are sponsoring. This serves as a constant reminder of the friendship
you have made possible. Then youll be sent updates on how the match
is going and reports on the childs progress. Dont be surprised
if you receive a thank-you note and holiday cards from the match you
are sponsoring!
Do I have to renew my sponsorship every year?
This decision is totally up to you. Most sponsors are so impressed with
the success of our Big Brother Big Sister program that they renew their
sponsorship each year for as long as the match is active.
Your sponsorship is 100% tax-deductible.
Donation is easy!
