We set out to match 30 kids in 30 days and your generous support allowed us to make 23 of those matches a reality. More children are waiting to be matched with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, so donors are still able to make a contribution to the campaign.
To support one match for one year, it costs
the agency $1,000. That investment covers the following important
and necessary expenses:
- Screening the volunteer including background checks,
home visits, interviews and reference checks
- Child and family assessments including home visits and
extensive interviews
- Analysis of intake information to determine the best
match to make sure each child and volunteer have a strong
likelihood of success
- Ongoing support for that match by professional case management
staff to take place through monthly contact with the volunteer,
the child and family separately
