Big Brother Daniel Ray, who is a longtime Cincinnati Police officer, has been matched with his Little Brother since early in 2024. They’re paired in our Bigs With Badges program. Domynyk, who is 10-years old, is Daniel’s third Little Brother. Daniels has told us that because of all the negative influences he sees through his job, he wants to be a positive influence, letting young people know that they can make decisions that allow them to stay on a positive path.
Domynyk’s mother wanted him to have a Big Brother because he was missing a strong male role model and their friendship has been an impactful one. Domynyk has become more self-confident and more willing to try new things, like being part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Project Role Model fashion show with his Big Brother! Over the years they’ve been matched, they’ve enjoyed playing basketball and going to the gym, to Kings Island, and to the library to read and work on any homework that needs done. Daniel and Domynyk have found many things they both like doing and had some in common when they were first met. As we interviewed Domynyk ahead of pairing him with a Big Brother, we asked what he wanted to be when he grows up. His answer: a police officer. Perhaps with Daniel’s influence, Domynyk will one day be part of our Bigs With Badges program himself! |
