It is easy to spend a few hours a month with your Little Brother or Sister when you are having fun. Enjoy activities throughout the community- go to the park, bake cookies, run errands, see a game, go fishing, or participate in match activities. You will soon realize being a Big means as much as to you, as it does to them.

Bigs with Badges empowers public service professionals to build trust and ignite youth potential through one-to-one mentoring. These meaningful connections bridge communities and show that those who wear a badge are not just protectors—but champions, allies, and role models.

Helena and Terri’s mentoring relationship is a powerful example of long-term impact, built on consistency, trust, and a deeply youth-centered approach over nearly 12 years. Matched in our Warren County program when Helena was six, Terri became a steady, supportive presence as her Little Sister navigated significant personal and health challenges.  Despite major life changes of her own, Terri maintained a consistent connection, helping Helena develop resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of purpose.

With Terri’s guidance, Helena has thrived academically, been accepted into multiple colleges as a first-generation student, and works nearly full-time while giving back through community service. Their relationship is marked by mutual respect and healthy boundaries, with Terri prioritizing Helena’s autonomy and growth. In turn, Helena has become an empathetic, driven young adult, inspired to pursue a future in social work. Together, their match reflects the transformative power of dedicated mentorship.
