BIG News: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati Appoints New President & CEO
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati (BBBSGC), a non-profit that creates and supports 1-to-1 mentoring relationships for youth across Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, has announced the appointment of Jessica Esterkamp as our new President and Chief Executive Officer. Esterkamp, who has been a member of the company’s executive board of directors and a BIG, brings a wealth of experience to the role and will assume the position as of March 1, 2024.
“After a decade of being a BIG and serving the past eight years as an executive board member, I’m thrilled to join the agency in an even greater capacity,” Esterkamp said. “I’m passionate about the mission and feel strongly that every child deserves the opportunity to realize their full potential through mentorship. I am honored for the opportunity to lead this organization to reach as many children as possible in our community.”
Esterkamp brings valuable experience from her previous role as the Vice President of Corporate Development at The Matrix Companies, a National Risk Management firm founded in Cincinnati. During her 18 years there, she led strategic growth strategies and played a pivotal role on the Executive team, contributing to their recognition as one of the region’s fastest growing companies with an award-winning culture.
“Jessica brings a deep commitment to the mentorship of at-risk youth in our community,” said Carrie Little, Board Chair for BBBSGC and Divisional Group President at Great American Insurance. “Given Jessica's extensive business experience building and leading her own company, her community involvement in the Greater Cincinnati business and philanthropy, and her passion for BBBSGC, we are excited to have someone of Jessica’s caliber and experience step up to lead our organization.”

IT TAKES LITTLE TO BE BIG.
In the time it takes to enjoy a slice or two, you can make a difference.
In the time it takes to enjoy a slice or two, you can make a difference.
We continue to learn that "Everyone has a story," and each life impacted by our work is one that can make a positive difference for our community. There is story after story from our Bigs, Littles, young adults, and families that remind us that everything we do matters.
Match Support Specialist Connie Venable received an email from longtime Big Brother Rob Maly. The subject line was,“Grateful…….
….For you and the rest of BBBS organization for bringing my Little Brother Chaz into my life. Never would have thought I would have so much joy in watching him grow up, get a job, earning his CDL, become fun Uncle Chaz to my boy, buy a house, be a role model his sisters so desperately need. It's been over 15 years since you've hooked us up and look how far we've gone!" (Sunrise on the summit of Mt Ellinor, Washington)
Rob and his Little Brother Chaz were matched in 2007 when Chaz was 12. Chaz was living with a single mom and five sisters. He was desperate for some male bonding– Rob was the perfect fit. Throughout their match, they built a lasting relationship. The match closed in 2014 when Chaz graduated high school, but that certainly was not the end of their relationship. Rob says Chaz comes to his house for dinner every Sunday, and they are family.
